If you’ve ever wanted to actually build the mobile app ideas floating around in your head but didn’t know where to start, this is the course for you. This course is meant to get you started developing mobile apps even if you’ve never written a line of code.
You’ll start by building fully functional apps without writing code. You’ll then move to fully learn both Android and iOS development along with the Java and Swift programming languages.
Going beyond just app development, you’ll also learn mobile UI/UX design and how to mock up your app ideas using Sketch 3.
Finally you’ll learn how to leverage the power of PhoneGap, which lets you write your app once and convert it to other platforms for publishing.
Getting Started with App Development
You’ll start by learning app development without writing code at all using Android App Inventor. Here you’ll learn basic programming terminology and concepts by building functioning mobile apps that you can actually publish to the market.
By removing the coding aspect from app development, you’ll be able to truly understand what you’re doing before diving into the more complex world of writing code.
This is what sets our course apart from all the others you’ll see on Udemy.

For first two days it went great and I was very pleased. I’ve had multiple problems since then and no one has responded to my questions for over 2 days except udemy.com rep who said I need to contact the instructor or instructor’s company. I have limited time my company has given me to take this course so timely responses are very important to me in this case. I left several questions for course instructor but no response for over two days. 1. I couldn’t find any mention of course material (download files) and was getting frustrated until I accidentally discovered them when going back into course overview. 2. MIT App Inventor 2 course instructor mentioned multiple times they would be doing 10 apps and they only did 5. On the good side, what he did present was very well done. 3. Android Studio section of course had lots of information but it assumed you already new Android Studio and no introductory information, he just dived and everything he did worked but just seemed like magic, there was no build up to knowing why he was selecting widgets, procedures, etc. I was able to follow along and get it done but it was much harder than it should have been for an introductory course, but the end result was good, but I don’t think I could replicate it myself even after doing it because I didn’t learn WHY. If it was done in the same style as the MIT App Inventor section it would be awesome. 4. The Android Studio course files seem to be corrupted, I could never get the ZIP files to uncompress correctly. I hacked around it by finding and adding my own icons. 5. I’m just starting on the SWIFT part of the course and already multiple sections of video seem to be missing. He starts in for several minutes to show something and then the video ends and then the next video says OK, now that you know that….. Overall this could be a very good course if these issues were resolved. If these issues are resolved I would probably rate this course much higher.

outdated and is not showing PhoneGap

Instructor gives clear and concise information, with plenty of detail.
Romi Natasha Andrews –
Thomas is friendly, is patient but he does talk a little too fast and I’ve had to rewind the videos several times. But I do enjoy his teaching and think he’s an excellent instructor.
Tero Lompolo –
Very extensive. Lot’s of topics. Sometime even bit tiring to go though. But if you want to have big picture (and same time close view) of mobile develoment, this is it.
Rotisory Foundation –
It’s interesting, but not very professionally done.
