8.1/10 (Our Score)
Product is rated as #157 in category SQL

This course covers a guide to automating ETL by reviewing each step and how this can be achieved.  This course is designed for anyone who works in the data field – from employees to C–suite executives. With the demand for ETL developers increasing (per the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the opportunity to become a data provider (for business owners), I highlight methods and architecture to minimize the work that must be done for ETL, so that you can spend more time working on enhancing skills.

I offer a ton of free content on my YouTube channel (SQL In Six Minutes), and suggest students to become familiar with the basics of SQL Server and MongoDB, covered at the below, free playlists:

SQL In Six Minutes (YouTube)

The MongoDB 103 (YouTube)

In addition, the only coupon for this course that I offer is available in the trailer for my YouTube channel.  Since this is the most popular question I get asked, see the trailer for the YouTube channel SQL In Six Minutes to get it.

This course covers:

Understanding the extract process and constructing architecture to automate it.

Understanding the load process, when change is necessary with loading, and how to automate it.

Instructor Details

I work as a data architect for FinTek Development. I am also a published tech writer and video instructor; one of which is my YouTube channel SQL In Six Minutes. In the decade I've worked in tech, the largest opportunities I've seen involve how firms work with and use their data. From hospitals to businesses to colleges, few organizations understand and use their data effectively. Finally, I am a proponent of the learn-by-doing methodology. I've worked with and interviewed many individuals who had too much theory, often from higher educational institutions, and too little practice. Since tech changes rapidly, people interested in tech must show a willingness to practice often and learn quickly from their practice.

I’m working my way through this course. The instructors style and enthusiasm for the subject is infectious and makes for an enjoyable learning experience. While i might not agree with everything he says , i am engaged and listening instead of passively observing the course. Defintely one of the better courses on udemy.

The first three videos are a sales pitch for ETL and this guy’s philosophy on marketable career skills. Unnecessary.

The course showed many tools and solutions. I liked the course exercises and they helped a lot. The instructor responded to every question in the course and had detailed solutions on some of the bugs.

I’ve been able to adapt much of Tim’s ETL architecture and deploy new/augment existing procedures in a variety of Data warehouse applications mostly by augmenting existing SSIS packages with PowerShell code (to shred XML, JSON), and to dynamically render SSRS reports (querying SSAS cubes). This course is worth every penny paid.

Really motivating. We’ll see once we get to the technical stuff.

For me, the focus of the course was too much on Powershell scripting around more or less the same challenge. I would have liked a broader view on ETL and it’s purposes.

Besides the fact that the instructor is an expert in the field. This Course for me it is inspirational. Now more than ever I want to develop the skills as an ETL developer.
