Learn to Program A Self–Driving Car In My Online Course!
In this course you will make an autonomous car drive itself! You will create an algorithm that will give the car the ability to:
Follow the speed limit.
Pull into parking spaces.
Avoid obstacles.
If you love cars (or robots) and want to see if you can code a car that can park, control its speed, and avoid obstacles all on its own& this course is for you.
Whether you have extensive coding knowledge or just an interest in robotics, this course will take your skills to the next level. Most importantly, you’ll have fun throughout the process.
You won’t just learn about the concepts, you will have a chance to actually implement them, test them, and see the results in real time. Learning sticks better when you put it into action, and seeing results is what makes the process so rewarding. With my custom simulator, you can see how your algorithm would work on a real car.
Model Predictive Control is a useful concept to understand for all areas of robotics, but learning about it doesn’t have to be a drag. It also doesn’t have to be impossible to understand. I break down each concept to be fully digestible for every kind of student.

I really hope i would learn about vehicle dynamics and implementation of MPC in application but there is no explanation on MPC the content of the course is very short. To be honest, i didn’t learn anything new from this course. There is no explanation on the simulation and the course is incomplete.
Ankur Jain –
control system points of view it is lacking, there is no analysis.
Sergio Reyes –
Great course. Thank you for present a complex subject in a in way that is easier to assimilate.
Taylor Clayton –
Really enjoyed the course. Great intro into MPC!
Jeff Carroll –
I have taken all Daniel’s courses and enjoy ALL of them! Keep them coming!

I think the video explaining the installation of Conda is poorly done, and really does not explain the process. The instructor assumes that the student is familiar with command prompts, which may not be the case.

The course was great! The main focus was on how to implement MPC in a code. However, the instructor also gives a great effort to explain the MPC logic intuitively. In addition, what I like about Daniel is that he is trying to point out some of the reasons why something might not work when you try to apply it to something things that are not apparent at first sight. However, since he had real life experience in robotics, he shared some of these hings to watch out for with his students. I highly recommend it!
Alan Steve Anthony –
Great introduction to MPC and its relevance in autonomous robotics.
Ali Gerami –
I liked the course in general. The playground was a great way to show how MPC works. But some parts of the course were very slow paced. A person that is looking to learn MPC most likely has engineering background and does not need an explanation on how Sine, cosine, and tangent work. I would also love to see higher level courses in the future.

The instructor has the ability to create a relaxing atmosphere. He explains the deep, fundamental ideas of the topic and, at the same time, uses programming code for (nearly) practical implementation.

5 Star for Asimov reference 🙂 And also found the course really informative (even though I got the Udacity Self driving car nanodegree and MPC was one of the main subjects), thanks.
Daniel Baudisch –
Great course with assignments to get hands on experience.
Abhishek Vashist –
Straight to the point, amazing quick conceptual explanation. Great assignment structure
Erika Santuccio –
It was a good match. I would have preferred if the solutions might have been shown also with Simulink and Matlab. 😉

This course is a VERY good introduction to MPC. The instructor does very well from a pedagogical standpoint in that he tells you how to play around with the code to deepen your understanding of the material along with some thought proviking questions to guage your understanding. This coupled with a simulated environment to actually visualize your controller is action makes the course very worth the purchase.

Easy to follow and understand!
