The explosion in digital media – web, social and now mobile – represents a departure from how things were like in the last century. This proliferation of digital media is both a threat and an opportunity for many businesses. Business Analytics can be leveraged to process data, sentiment, buzz, contacts, context and other aspects of business interest in real time, for business performance and impact. The course picks and uses use–cases from a variety of industries and geographies, to showcase the potential and impact that business analytics done properly (or not) can have on business performance.

Instructor Details

Professor Voleti is an Assistant professor with the Marketing Area at the ISB. Previously, he worked in the industry in different capacities as a management consultant and a software analyst. Professor Voleti’s research focuses on combining data with econometric and statistical methods to explain phenomena of marketing interest such as evolution in the equity of brands across time, valuation of brands using secondary sales data, the sales impact of geographic and abstract distances between products and markets and the performance, productivity and benchmarking of salesforce organisations.

    The format and the way it was thought wasn’t satisfactory. The instructor seemed to hold things and did not share in a pleasant manner. Overall not worth wasting time with a medicore show by ISB.

    The structure of the course was not good. Moreover it was so much theoretical without concrete examples. What was being shown was not inline with the audio.Eg where the tutor referred to something on slides there were no slides on the screen. The quality of questions was also not good at all. The questions seemed to be ambiguous and even wrong for e.g. the one asking about Gartner cycle the graph clearly revealed the answer to be something else but when I marked that choice my answer was reflected to be wrong. Not happy seemed a wastage of time. Expected much better

    There are no moderators who could answer the questions arising. Professor often refers to some reading but they are missing. Difficult to follow.

    Nicely designed course for someone who wants to enhance his/her analysis skill & do analytics. Good examples makes easier to relate to concepts. In between the course or after final submission, some case studies should be provided. The probable solution to be accessible only after submission of one’s assignment.This will help build the confidence in applying what is learnt. Links should be updated, some of them don’t work.

    This is a very interesting course for the intellect who are always curious to learn more based on data points. Sudhir brings back the curiosity that every student wants to have on a gamut of topics this course covers.     Some of the examples are confusing and not very clear. The transcripts are also not orderly placed. The course could be more better if author could give more examples apart from the readings to demonstrate the theory.

    An interesting commentary about the Business Analytics and various toolscape and the diversity that Digital Media offers. Mr. Sudhir Voleti offers interesting examples to help us understand the concepts. The world is going ‘mobile’ and the essential know how on analyzing and using ‘data’ is very well contained in this course.

    there were a number of technical challenges with the video that affect teaching and learning. the content by itself is great but resolving issues with missing readings, missing presentation slides, missing links etc will go a long way to help
