I liked the course very much. It is very much useful for beginners, especially for someone who has no programming experience beforehand, such as me. I study sociology, and I never practiced computer programming before. I truly find this course appropriate and I highly recommend it!

Because it’s a great course. I prefer to listen to the lectures and keep notes and he speaks at the normal speed which helps me a lot to apply this method and get information and tips for programming.

Very good and having already started programming in HTML, CSS, and a little in JavaScript, it makes these lectures a breeze.

I guess I had some mixed reactions when going through the course. With high hopes then a bit low when I reached ‘Scanners’ but then the instructor made up for the dip in quality with some good lectures following Scanners. And overall when compared to some other videos and beginner documents, especially the much acclaimed doc by Alan Richardson, I feel this one from Lum was good. Really good. Just one important feedback: If we can get the ‘Constructor’ pronounced in the right way it would be good.

This course gives a very thorough breakdown of the different datatypes in Java, as well as different types of loops. Overall, it lays a very good foundation for moving on to more difficult programming.
