The instructions are slow enough and very easy to follow for newbie. The course also covers many aspects of game development, which I think is quite interesting.

Instructor is clear and helps when someone has a problem with something. Course has already taught so much and it’s really good to know that instructor is updating this course after a long break. Already made half is good, but the sound quality could be better. I’m eagerly waiting for more lectures 🙂

Had a lot of fun learning Stencyl. The instructor’s advise of getting good at debugging is so true for any type of programming. I hope a future version of Stencyl supports HTML 5 as it seems browsers are starting to move away from Flash support.

I wouldn’t really call this course advanced. While there were bits and pieces of info I found helpful, there were also chunks of information that I’d assumed whoever enrolls in the course should already know. Nonetheless, this course does help one to become more familiar with Stencyl’s environment.

Update: thanks very much for the final content! Rating adjusted! Nice course that explains basic functionalities of Stencyl unfortunately, it doesn’t deliver everything that’s promised in the summary. There’s a sudden cut as soon as the counting UI elements have been placed. Of course, by then you know enough to figure some things out yourself, but you don’t get to know anything about the different platforms and how to implement any form of monetization.

This is a very useful course, but I am a bit dissappointed because it is not a complete course.

This is a very good course covering mobile game development. The game created as part of this course is quite involved and the instructor covers some advanced topics. All of the lessons are very clear and the publishing and monetization sections are the icing on the cake. This course stands on its own, but I would highly recommend going through the introductory course first. Each course covers a different style of game development, the combination should cover all the bases for any type of game you are planning.

it is very hard to concentrate on the lesson itself while trying to listen to an instructor that doesn’t sound very enthusiastic about teaching. long pauses, noisy mouth sounds, loud exhales, unedited coughs and sneezes, and plenty of redundant filler material (definition of play: kids playing football is play, a nun praying is not play…) to make the course appear longer and plenty of hints to watch his previous course (while this course is not presented as part 2 or something). all of this creates an uneasy learning experience. i’ve seen free youtube tutorials which are better. not something actually worth my money. also the pictures for this course are misleading, a video demo of the end goal would be nice.
