In this game creation course, my brother and I will bring you through the process of making a 2D platformer game using Unity and C#.
This is an all–time classic genre, a blank canvas to let your imagination run wild!
–
We’ll begin by learning how to make a solid player controller, with wall jumping and sliding. Then we will go on a fun journey bringing to life unique enemy characters such as a shooting warlock, a flying bat that avoids obstacles, and a patrolling goblin! So you can expect some simple but fun tutorials on AI.
You’ll learn how to make moving platforms, a flexible camera, and weapon pickup and switching.
If you’ve ever wondered how to make an easy unlockable level system, then that’s covered too!
Get ready to dive into the universe of particle effects and game juice, learning how to make attacks and jumps more satisfying with sound effects and screen shake for example!
I’ll share some useful and easy to implement tips and tricks to make your platformer game environments shine with soft overlays for lighting, parallax to add depth to the world, little trees and grass tufts which move underfoot and post–processing!
–
Last but not least, by purchasing this course you’ll get access to all the project files. Lots of art, animations, code, sounds, and effects at your disposal! Whatsmore, you’ll be able to join the courses unique Discord server and chat with a community of game creators, ask for help if you get stuck, and share your hard work with fellow students!

Awesome Explanation and a fantastic course.Course is very precise and to the point..Thanks a lot for this course!
Aaron Winter –
It has been great so far but I wish you could slow down a little as I’m constantly trying to keep up.
Matt Cheddarman –
very good! Already learned a lot in the first few minute. I am intermediate level in Unity, this course is a good level for me.
Arielle Bieber –
Amazing
Arjun Rajan –
I like how he explains it, and it was very easy to code these! Good job, Thorn!
Pepijn Schaap –
Great BTB quality. It’s a bit fast tho, had to rewind it a lot.
David Kelly –
This course was a good match for me. I like the pithy explanations and quick videos. Although, at times I do wish there was a bit more explanation of some things. Overall, I am satisfied with this course and will continue to build my games using many of the methods taught.
Patrick Gu rard –
good lol
Tim Walter –
Solid, some key things are hidden through the use of external libraries that are good for devs to know how to handle, such as camera manipulation.
Kaizen –
Very clean explanation, thumbs up!
Elias Wirstr m –
This is a really good course so far and I got what I expected. I feel like things could be explained a little better at some points and that you could work on the speed (sometimes it goes a little fast which makes it hard to keep up)
Melvin Pettersson –
Very good 5/5 If (You buy this course) { You won’t be disappointed! }
Neil Waldron –
I only have about 2 months of programming experience, and I can see clear as day the TERRIBLE coding practices that are used in this course. i recommend against taking this course. I WILL NOT BE REFUNDING THE COURSE. because i believe they can improve the quality of the code used. I want to support indie game devs in ways that i can

Didn’t tell me how to get that player in animator,i had to search on youtube
Yousif Saif –
It was good tho when liam talked about Physics2D in coding he didn’t tell us what that meant
Sebastian Acevedo –
It gave good tips, but nothing you couldn’t find in youtube. I liked the short videos explaining what you have to do, bu it doesn’t explain the why it works in that way. Things like Parallax are not explained, using perspective camera is not ideal. Enemy Pathfinding while good is not an explanation of how it should work, and also doesn’t teach how should work in a videogame. It’s a good tutorial for quick coding, and it gives some good ideas for a game, but it lacks a lot of fundamentals for begginers.

Excelente curso, para aprender y tener base para empezar a desarrollar tu propio juego. Solamente creo que deja algo en el aire de explicar acerca del porque de la programaci n pero es entendible en la mayoria de los videos. Recomendado!
Rafal –
after 11 lessons i still think Blacthornprod could do this better, but most of problems was my foult.
James Haidle –
Well, it’s working perfectly so far, so yeah 5 stars. I love all of the vids from BlackThorn Prod, so this is not a surprise to me. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Malte Schramm –
Ich war sehr zufrieden und habe viel dazugelernt
Treven Persing –
It is a good course that is good for people starting out with some good reinforcement content for those who already have some coding knowledge.
Divyanshu sharma –
I always wanted to create a 2D platformer , and now its looking easy for me . Thanks!!!
William Henry –
He is very good at explaining. Not to basic, and not to advanced. Thanks for a great course!
Henry S –
I really enjoyed this course, there was plenty to do and I feel that I have learnt so much from it as a course. its a shame that its over so soon. 🙂
Mauricio Magalh es –
The instructor explains it very well, goes straight to the point and he manages to make a well balanced mix of theory with practice.
MRNX GBRL –
Nice Bread & Butter overview of some of the basics in creating a platformer
Peter Schwendimann –
You get so many tools with which you can make ingenious projects. These are the best courses I have ever seen and done. Too bad you can’t give 10 stars. You really learn a lot. Top 100/100 points
