In this course you’ll learn how to make an old school fast paced 3D FPS in the Godot Game Engine.

I’ll cover how to set up an environment and lighting, make player movement, create four guns: a machete, shotgun, machine gun, and rocket launcher, make two enemies, one melee and one range, with pathfinding and basic ai, create particle effects for explosions and smoke trails, create animations for weapons, create ammo, health, and weapon pickups, and set up a basic hud for the player

I have been making games as an independent game developer for almost seven years now. I've made 2d and 3d games of all genres, from horror to puzzle. I've also been drawing, painting, and 3d modelling for games for nearly 8 years now. For the past year and a half I have been a content creator on Youtube, making learning materials for other game developers.

Narayana is an excellent instructor with deep knowledge of game development. His teaching style is no nonsense and to the point. If english isn’t your first language, you may have trouble following along at his rate or speech. I personally prefer the pace of this course. The material is very dense but never boring; Narayana moves quickly but explains everything as He goes along using the Godot engine’s built in reference library. I jumped ahead to watch the player movement lecture and already blown away by the lessons learned. Thanks Narayana for creating an excellent course. Can’t wait to complete it!

very to the point, helpful in describing just enough. I don’t feel overloaded with information.

It is very good and the content is well written and spoken but it is a little bit to fast! (should have expected it seeing as I have watched most of your videos). The explanation of each thing’s use is very good!

Whilst good explanations are given on some topics, some things are not covered at all. Pacing is good and content is good

This is great info, just moves a little bit too fast for my boomer brain so I have to keep rewatching clips

This is a great series of lessons that will start you down your path with a solid, if somewhat bare, FPS framework. Some near essential ideas like a shotgun spread randomizer and a grenade launcher weapon got left on the cutting room floor, but again, they’re not essential. You will be very happy you took this course.

The pace if very high. Other than that, quick and precise

Really good demostrations, I’m liking how he designs levels and the progress threw that is very well, I had a hard time finding ways to import textures properly, and he demostrates well and explains proper filter methods to insure good textures. That is very important especially if your going to be working on a project for a long time, if your using textures arent properly imported your in sight for sore eyes. Half way threw the course, I admit i havnt typed much of the scripts themselves but i did view the video and understood what he explained. The explainations are very well put and the speed is very good as well, Not slow and its not to fast. I recommend taking a FPS course to understand the basics first before taking this course. That way you can keep up with the speed of the course. Ive done lots of FPS prototypes so this was a breeze , Especially since i could just copy the scripts. I honestly only copied them because i only have one screen, its very frustrating for me at this point since i have been typing all my scripts out using one screen!. AND IM DONE!, I did alot of these alrdy in Unity, So recap was a breeze. Oh man Now im a lot more comfortable with Godot. thank u so much!
