Introduction to COBOL

Nowadays, knowing how to use a programming language like COBOL means many positive things for any computer scientist, engineer, Mainframe technician or professional in the sector. The most successful large companies and banks have used it and they continue using it for their businesses and transactions, and every day they are looking for people who can perform this type of work. In this course you will learn to program in COBOL language from scratch, using a software called OpenCobolIDE (free), which of course I will teach you to install and download. But… what is COBOL for? Well, very easy. With this language you will be able to carry out operations oriented mainly to business, that is, to the so–called management informatics. I am an industrial engineer and I have been programming, using mainframes and teaching about their use for years. During this time I have realized that every day the use of a fast, complete and practical language such as COBOL is more necessary, and that is why it is not surprising that today it is still used and it is the leader in large companies and banks.
