Instructor Details

Dr. Bryson Payne is a TEDx speaker on How to Teach Kids to Code , the author of the Amazon #1 New Release and Top 10 Best Selling children's programming book, Teach Your Kids to Code (Python), (2015 - translated into six languages) and Learn Java the Easy Way (2017), both from No Starch Press. He is the Director of the Center for Cyber Operations and a tenured full Professor of Computer Science at the University of North Georgia, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP ) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and holds the elite SANS|GIAC GPEN certification, among other industry certifications. Dr. Payne is also a MOOC (massive, open, online course) instructor with over 37,000 students to his credit, from more than 160 countries. Dr. Payne has multiple best-selling courses on Udemy, and both Real-World Ethical Hacking and Learn Java the Easy Way have been rated in the top 10% of all Udemy courses! Dr. Payne has taught computer science since 1998, served as the University's first Department Head of Computer Science, and is the founding Director of the Center for Cyber Operations Education at UNG. He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from Georgia State University and has published articles in scholarly and industry journals, in addition to speaking regularly at regional and international conferences in computer science, cybersecurity and IT leadership.
