Review by S.H.:

This is a great introduction to Jekyll and to Static site generators in general, I’d recommend to anybody, especially developers like me who have struggled with the overhead and complexity of traditional database–based CMSes such WordPress and Drupal and are looking for simpler way to customize a website and maintain a blog. The skills learned in this course not only apply to Jekyll, but can be immediately used in other static site generators, even those written in different languages, since most of them obscure them beyond the markdown, front matter, and templating engine.

Save time and money by creating a website or a blog that is easy to maintain and easy to scale. You might even get a raise or a better job with these new skills!

very good so far I guess the video is slightly out of date, now Jekyll is set up with Sass instead of Less, but it’s very good 🙂

As just a beginner with Jekyll, I’m learning a ton within the first two sections. Really looking forward to the rest of the sections, then hopefully can build something by the end.

The only thing I would change so far is after applying the resource template and re launching jekyll, show the site for verification to those of us following along. Also, the template did not have the ‘less’ folder or the license or readme files to delete. This is not a big deal though.

A simple introduction to jekyll. To me, the pace seems slow. Good if you look for a video tutorial to get started.

While I already have website https://sypalo.com running on GitHub pages, I decided to view the course to learn something new and I found some topics helpful. For those who just started with Jekyll, I recommend this course as being short and clear. Only one bit is missing Jekyll installation on Windows/Linux video.

sometimes it goes too fast, e.g. how can a bugfixing be carried out, how can the contents of objects be viewed. Overall, however, I learned a lot.

Great course, highly recommended, takes you all of the way through from setting up Jekyll to publishing a site using Github pages. In conjunction with the tutorial and documentation on the Jekyll website I got my first site up and running from scratch in no time.
