Was a good course on the basics, just a few things could be improved, mainly sometimes around speed, jumping around quickly etc. Managed to correct some bugs and increase functionality after some lessons though, like additional enemies around the boss rotating in different directions with different offsets of 90 degrees to make it more challenging.

This was a great course for a beginner who just wanted to learn by doing and really get involved. While there may have been a few occasions where a more in depth explanation would have been useful the course mainly keeps to a good pace that is informative without being boring. Really helps you understand unity as a resource and gives you a broad range of skills to get your game making journey off the ground

Pros: Really well paced videos, I like the lack of waffle or over talking things. Covers alot of material. Get a simple working game at the end. Cons: A couple of mistakes here and there, though most are fixed in later bug fix videos. Older version of unity, somethings have changed in the newer version. Some of the methods / structure used aren’t the best especially the scene management and respawn mechanic (felt a little bit rushed near the end).

The project is excellent and very applicable to many different types of games. He deos an excellent job of describing content, logic, scripting and little FYI’s that help make development easier. This is very well done and it is exactly…and I stress exactly…what I was looking for.

Un curso muy completo, destaco sobre todo la estructuraci n de los scripts siguiendo los principios de la programaci n orientada a objetos, un plus para aprender las t cnicas usadas de la manera mas estructurada y eficiente posible.

The course was overall good but there were a few things missing from the course that weren’t explained such as making sure you add an object and fuction to the On Click () section of the ToMainScene button during the Death Menu tutorial.

Informative and easy to follow so far.
Minh Nguyen –
Yes it is a good lesson
Jean Francois Roy –
Good class for a hands on project. It does not go deep into each system, but it is a good overview of the basic components that constitute a 2d top down game and allows you to achieve results fast.

I’ve really enjoyed this fast pace tutorial

this course is really helpful and engaging to follow along with.
Nigel McDonald –
Fun as a beginner but moves way WAY too fast to learn much and seems like a fair amount of mistakes made

I am through the first three lessons so far (section 1.1 1.3) and it has been good so far. Haven’t really gotten into the nuts and bolts yet but if it maintains at this level it will be great.

So I’ve looked at a lot of Unity courses and tutorials, and this one was by far the most accessible. I encountered no issues and this was more than enough for an old school game dev returning to the field to learn and understand Unity’s new toolkit and workflow for 2D games. This was BY FAR the best purchase I’ve made on Udemy to date. Ok, run on sentence aside, thanks to the content creator for putting this up for us.
