Good crash course on Gamemaker. I feel confident enough after going through this to explore & experiment on my own. I could do without the This video will cover intros and This video covered outros for each video. Those seemed redundant & a waste of time. The course explains each feature and concludes with putting the concepts together in one small game. I think it’s enough to get me started.

I have done a couple other courses on gamemaker. This is actually a pretty good introduction to game maker. Covers the engine pretty good. Goes over the code basics pretty good. The example game is a bit weak. For a intro kind of course it probably gets complicated quite quickly. I think something more simple code would be better. Also he codes a lot before testing the game. It would be better to code a section and see what it does. That would help to hit home the cause and effect. I thought the example game could be better and cover more introductory topics. Could be just me.

Great course, you can even treat this as a reference if you would like to jump ahead and learn something specific. The one thing I would have liked though is if the course creator could have added in a section about scaling the game window (at least for people using GMS2 for mobile game development). Great course and was what I was expecting!

Really good content actually for the beginner getting into GML and Gamemaker Studio 2. The presenter certainly knows the subject matter but I just found it a bit dry to listen to. It actually felt and sounded like he was just reading from a script quite often and I think this lets the course down a bit for me. I liked the fact there were quizzes but there could have been more. I paused the video often and coded in GM and experimented with the code to get varied and different results.

Great tutorial for understanding the fundamentals of gamemaker and coding. Can be completed in a day or 2.
