In this game development course, you’ll learn how to make your first game using the Unity game engine and the C# programming language.
Here is a list of the keys things that you will learn by watching this course :
First of all, you’ll have a very good understanding of the basics of Unity once you’ve finished this course: you’ll know how to navigate its interface, create objects, manipulate those, use the prefab system, and lots more.
You’ll learn all about the C# fundamentals, in other words, understand what are variables, functions, arrays, loops, conditionals, and a wealth of other key programming tools. You’ll also be given challenges so that you don’t only copy what we do but gain a much deeper understanding of this amazing programming language.
Once we’ve covered the basics of both Unity and C# we’ll create an entire game: Raining Apocalypse!
There we will learn how to make simple game art using a 2D drawing application of your choice like Ps or Gimp, and how to rig and animate your 2D characters in Unity.
Create a simple player controller, falling hazards, and a spawning system in C#.
Learn how to use Unity’s UI to make an awesome main menu, game over screen, and to display the player’s health.

If you follow the course step by step you will indead create your own game and know a little bit about how things work. but i feel like many things were glanced over or not explained. like when a game object is would have been alot better if we knew WHY it was created and what are it’s applications. I feel like the make a game part of the course could use a little more details added to it. And no jumpcuts, i had to rewind back alot of time because the author would transition between different parts of unity between jump cuts.

Videos 24 27 are a bit confusing, especially since there’s a lot of pasting going on and it’s been a bit difficult for me to follow. But I ended up with a game in the end, which is awesome! Thank you for the course!

Sometimes it goes too quick, but generally really good.

Yes, his voice is clear, and he doesn’t skip over anything, great for beginners, but not perfect. He does seem to rush and cut through certain parts which isn’t ideal for beginners that should learn every bit of code more than once, and I think when explaining the purpose of functions, conditionals, bools and more, he should add their purpose and examples of them in games, and maybe a bit more guidance and in more detail, as I believe this is better than brief summary videos.

Obwohl ich seit l ngerem mit Unity arbeite, lerne ich doch noch Sachen dazu. Sehr gut umgesetzt und erkl rt.

Really good overall. I did find that I was getting a little lost in the second half, feeling like some of the coding, or reasons/sequences for certain coding choices were not explained as well. But it’s also a lot and I went through it pretty quick. Overall, really happy.

it’s bit too fast i want it to be a little bit slower.

It was great! Some of the coding with the Random generating was a bit confusing and required some outside research tho.

Accurate instructions and easy to follow. It would be 5 stars if you didn’t leave anything out. As this is a course for beginners, you shouldn’t advertise something in the tutorial that you end up not showing us how to do. Like the motion trails for the falling objects, or the effects for the dashing, or the moving backgrounds. No matter how insignificant or easy you think it is, we paid money for these tutorials, we’re beginners, it wouldn’t have been much for you to simply add a few extra minutes of video to show us how to add those things. Those were key parts for me, and now I have to look elsewhere to figure out how to do it, which could take hours to really find and figure out, when you could’ve shown exactly how you did it all in just a few extra minutes of video. Otherwise, good course.

This was an excellent course. I ran into a few snags but it was just myself going a little too fast. Instructors were excellent in explaining the concepts and pushing you towards taking the material towards your own game. Highly recommended as a first jump into Unity and Game Dev.
