MATLAB is the premier programming language of scientific computing in university, research, and industry.
Excellent MATLAB programming skills can make or break a career in engineering, physics, biology, finance, and many other fields.
But how do you learn how to program in MATLAB? Sure, you can watch some tutorial videos online, but those videos generally focus on the most basic coding skills, like what is a variable and how to write a for–loop.
Those are important foundations, but they won’t make you competitive. If you want to be competitive, you need to become a master at MATLAB programming. And that’s what you’ll learn in this course.
This course is different from other MATLAB programming courses!
Rather than having short videos that presents a simple piece of MATLAB syntax, this course starts from the real–world perspective: Problems in data science that you can solve with MATLAB.
Do you need to learn how to filter your signal in MATLAB? There’s a section for that!
Do you have a complicated formula and you need to translate it into MATLAB code and make a graph that simulates the formula with different parameters? Yeah, there’s a section on that as well!
Do you need to make a movie of a 3D simulation changing in color over time and then export as an .avi file? This course covers that as well!

Lecture 2 has issue displaying the cursor. Other than that everything is great!

This has been wonderful in carrying me along. Instructor is very eloquent, and displays rich knowledge in the subject.

The course is a good match for me. Prior to this course I have learned MATLAB programming on my own based on my project needs so there are many gaps and even misunderstandings in what I have learned while finishing my projects on time and on budget. Now I am learning the full programming suite from the basics and so many of mike’s videos produce an aha moment for me, such as in the use of Matrix logical indexing to name but one of many details. Mike is a natural born teacher in the middle of his University and Lab work. A perfect combination for me.

the font size it is too small, hope it will be improve in the next course.

This course really helped me understand the basics of MATLAB.

Good so far

I have 2 degrees in Mathematics and Statistics and so a lot of this is very intuitive. I like and I need the thorough foundation that Mike is building …great so far !

The courses is very helpful in the sense that it introduces me to a broad variety of matlab functions and possibilities, which I otherwise might have never known to exist.

It is going really good. Nice.

Tr s peu d’informations utiles et constructives pour le moment.

This is what a 4.5 5 star course should be. The amount of work put into developing and presenting the material is extraordinary. The work is hard, but worthwhile as the course allows the development of a broad range of skills and thought processes that will provide a solid set of skills to work with Matlab and related types of software.

Seems like a good class so far.

The Goals of the course is well explained. The lectures are easy to follow: clear voice, points explained slowly. Many disciplines are condensed in the course: Math, statistics, data visualisation, etc.

The instructor teaches with passion that makes you want to learn. He explains well and he is very knowledgeable. Great thus far!

Prof. Mike is the best! Wonderful course for all levels of programmers 🙂
Obed Aboah Ayisi –
It s clear and easily understandable
Jonathen Robey –
I have plenty of experience coding in MatLab, but not enough experience to really understand the software and its capabilities. This course is the track leading me to that understanding. Thanks!
Elisha Samuel Gyamfi –
Very nice course

It was a wonderful course and with all the coding, it was easy to understand what was being taught. That being said, I needed to look up the formulae and the concepts behind all was being taught. Though Internet is a good look up, an offline book recommendation will help surely in understanding the concepts and formulae beforehand. For example, the matrices and spectral analysis required looking up book . I surely hadn’t read some of the material in long as I never needed to work practically.

I think that Mike X Cohen is the best teacher in udemy. If the subject you are looking for is taught by professor Cohen buy it without second thought. Do not look for anything else. I wish he was my university professor.

Enjoyable course. One of the best ways to learn Matlab, fast!
Andrew Yolleck –
When comparing the two sets of code in Video 2, you can’t just say his code versus his code. You need to specify which code you are referring to is it the one on the right hand side or left hand side? Or circle it using some sort of pointer.

I know also further this course will be excellent because instructor is one of the best in Udemy. Thanks for his hard work! Totally appreciated!
