Beginners and Kids Can Now Learn Python the Fun and Easy Way

Teach yourself (and your kids) to code fun games, graphics and GUI in Python, the powerful programming language used at tech companies and in academia.

Unlike the other courses and books out there, this course provides a rare opportunity to learn the graphics and UX (User Experience) sides of Python even as a beginner! Unlike the many other Python courses on Udemy, this course introduces you to this computer language by drawing shapes, coding a simple game, and designing GUIs (Graphic User Interfaces), including a functional GUI for a temperature converter app.

Gain a Firm Foundation in Python GUI Programming

If you want to learn to code, Python GUIs are the best way to start!

I designed this programming course to be easily understood by absolute beginners and young people. We start with basic Python programming concepts. Reinforce the same by developing games, graphics and GUIs. And finally we will develop a practical temperature converter app using Python.

Why Python?

The Python coding language integrates well with other platforms and runs on virtually all modern devices. If you re new to coding, you can easily learn the basics in this fast and powerful coding environment. If you have experience with other computer languages, you ll find Python simple and straightforward. This OSI–approved open–source language allows free use and distribution even commercial distribution.

Instructor Details

Hello. I am a PhD graduate from Cambridge University where I specialized in Tropical Ecology. I am also a Data Scientist on the side. As a part of my research I have to carry out extensive data analysis, including spatial data analysis.or this purpose I prefer to use a combination of freeware tools- R, QGIS and Python.I do most of my spatial data analysis work using R and QGIS. Apart from being free, these are very powerful tools for data visualization, processing and analysis. I also hold an MPhil degree in Geography and Environment from Oxford University. I have honed my statistical and data analysis skills through a number of MOOCs including The Analytics Edge (R based statistics and machine learning course offered by EdX), Statistical Learning (R based Machine Learning course offered by Standford online). In addition to spatial data analysis, I am also proficient in statistical analysis, machine learning and data mining. I also enjoy general programming, data visualization and web development. In addition to being a scientist and number cruncher, I am an avid traveler

This was an excellent introduction to Python. And the exposure to turtle and tkinter was extremely helpful. Thanks so much. Just an FYI, Lesson 23, if else loops, is messed up as the picture conditional Op1.png is displayed while you are running examples in the background. So we cannot see the examples. Othewise, no issues at all.

This was average(which is what I rated), because it covered all the topics, the only issue I had was how often the scripts were pre typed, and when you scrolled through it so quick, it always took me several minutes to understand where you were and what you were talking about.

Didn’t believe that i could learn this much in such a short time. Doing this course will not make you a pro in python. But it will make you extremely strong in basics and boosts your confidence to do more courses in python. I will surely recommend this course who wants to become strong in python basics.

This course is clear and easy to follow. It’s taken me from knowing no Python to being able to write some simple programs and understand code. I’m now preparing to take more advanced Python courses. This course is helpful and a good first step in studying Python.

This course is good and explains a lot about python. However it is a bit hard to understand the instructor speaking. One of the videos wasn’t demonstrating what the instructor was doing, it was just frozen and you could only hear the instructor speaking.
