This course presents all animation apis for Android in a neat and systematic fashion. So it is a valuable resource and I learned a lot from this course. The instructor is available and helpful as well. That said, the pace of the course is painfully slow! For each video, he starts a new project from scratch, he designs layouts, he downloads images.. Half of the videos are bloated with these trivial things. I believe, someone who takes a course specifically on animations would already know how to design layouts. But, well, you can skip those parts or run the video faster, so I guess it is not that important. And don’t expect to see inspiringly beautiful animations 🙂 There are not that elegant frankly. But you can learn the techniques and you can design your own gorgeous animations.

Everything is good but maybe the code editor should be zoomed in

I think this is a great course if you are completely new to animations and are struggling to find a starting point. For me, I’ve been doing UI and UX for years but wanted to take my UX to the next level. This course gets you familiar with the animations that are available. The examples are simple, but too simple and for some of the material, they lack a good detail. Now, of course its up to you to be creative and apply these concepts but one thing that would of been nice is to get some real world examples, possibly pulling from the Material Design (animations) spec to demonstrate some of these. Understandable this is not a material design course, but it would be nice if it was more relate able to what is considered best practices and practical design. In the Q&A there was a way better example then whats used in the actual lecture. I would advise using stuff like this instead. Overall, I did enjoy it. But if you already have a basic idea of animations and all the ones available to you (and have experienced them), then this probably isn’t the course for you. The things I enjoyed the most in the course were activity/fragment transitions, path morphing, and motion layout. The examples were a bit too simple but really nice for someone brand new to the scene (no pun intended).

The Lecturer explains things VERY clearly and slowly and I am learning a LOT even from the first few lessons.
