Apache Cordova – Build Hybrid Mobile Apps with HTML CSS & JS
$44.99 $16.99Track price
Apache Cordova is an open–source mobile development framework. It allows you to use standard web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for cross–platform development, avoiding each mobile platform native development language. Applications execute within wrappers targeted to each platform, and rely on standards–compliant API bindings to access each device’s sensors, data, and network status.
By Cross–Platform, we mean that the application codebase can be written once using HTML5, CSS3 & JavaScript and it can be run across multiple target mobile platforms such as Android, iOS, Windows, Firefox, Ubuntu mobile.
The web development community has been continually innovating and with the recent development of frameworks such as Angular, IONIC, jQuery, and React, the traditional web applications have now almost become indistinguishable from their native platform–specific peers in terms of functionality.
Apache Cordova can be extended with native plug–ins, allowing developers to add more functionalities that can be called from JavaScript, making it communicate directly between the native layer and the HTML5 page. These plugins allow access to the device’s accelerometer, camera, compass, file system, microphone, and more.
However, the use of Web–based technologies leads some Apache Cordova applications to run slower than native applications with similar functionality.
And the most important thing is: Cordova is free and open source. Here s how to get started with Apache Cordova.

Awful. Course is incomplete. It says it will cover Apple store publication, however it only covers the android playstore. Also the teacher doesn’t answer questions.
Viet Trinh –
The right amount of information to get you up and running with Cordova. The materials are well constructed and explained, from theory to practice. Minus a star because the instructor spoke too fast.

Outdated, and I learned nothing. I still have no clue how to merge the ionic knowledge with cordova. I wish there was a running example of a project that you build from scratch and has some qualities that resemble a realistic mobile application. Entering text, clicking a button, fetching the text, making a remote api call, parsing the response and updating the UI are all missing.

Good Points: Covers what it is meant to, as said in the introduction. Points for Improvement: 1. Communication and Language Skills. 2. In one video, it is said, firebase will be used, but no video on linking firebase with app. 3. Also, the course ends abruptly. The trainer may communicate the next steps that one should follow after this course.

I do not think this course meets the expectation. Also the English and Presentation is not good. Author has put a documentation is where it was expected he would have built the a video. We get more better content on youtube than this. This was not expected on Udemy platform. Too bad that Udemy has acecpted such content.

The course is good. If you want just the basic or working knowledge of cordova then this course is highly recommended, but if you you want deep knowledge and curious about how things work then you might get disappointed.

Best course on Apache Cordova on Udemy. Staring from very basic to advance level. Step by step mobile app development course and slowly you can use Ionic framework. But for that you will have to take other course of same instructor for Ionic 5 then it will be good combination if you want to use IOnic 5.

The most useless course I’ve taken on Udemy… Accent is terrible, extraneous noise is awful. Content of the course is not informative at all. I haven’t learned anything at all. All this you can read in Apache Cordova documentation… At least I would expect to implement some useful project, not just copy paste from documentation. General response: sorry, but very bad.
