Images are the most important ways of getting information across, ranging from art to marketing to politics. And nowadays, nearly all images are digital. Therefore, it’s important to know about image processing and digital image processing.
What will you get from this course?
You will learn fundamental skills in image processing and graphical user interfaces (GUIs) in a way that is fun and engaging. Being bored while learning is a waste of everyone’s time and energy, plus you really only learn when you are enjoying the learning experience. You don’t need any background in image processing before taking this course.
Improving your MATLAB programming skills. This is not only about image processing related code; you’ll also increase your MATLAB coding and programming skills concerning numerical processing, control statements, working with data, and more.
What are the prerequisites?
You need some basic MATLAB programming experience. If you are totally new to MATLAB, then please take an intro–MATLAB programming course first.
If you are familiar with variables, if–then statements, for–loops, and creating functions, then you have the necessary knowledge for this course.
What should you do now?

The course is very nice for neuroscientists. Students can be improved themself with this course.

So far, I can say that Mike knows his stuff really well. I actually did a bit of digging into his background and read a few of his academic papers in neuroscience, and I am impressed. However, there 2 things that should be addressed: (i) MATLAB is very costly for a person without institutional access, so I think other low cost means of having a MATLAB license that can used for publications (baring the hobbyist license) should be shared in all MATLAB courses. (ii) The OCTAVE versions of these MATLAB codes should equally be thought.

Mike is an amazing instructor. He explains the concepts really well. I hope he makes more courses on signal processing.

Done a lot of programming in Matlab but hardly any on GUI’s. As this course starts from scratch on GUI building it lays the required foundation for future, more complicated, GUI endeavors. It is simple yet essential to understand the relations between the build in figure entities, use understandable and clean programming. This course does a very good job in achieving this goal. Even the fun part of it!!!
