too lengthy discussion

It is a very comprehensive Ruby course. However starting chapter 170+, I am starting to fall asleep due to the over detail. I suggest that the author restructure the course into sections (novice, intermediate, advanced) so that the student can focus on the immediate essentials. Boris also talks too fast, which I like, since I am rushing to finish this course.

Whilst repeating a concept once might be a good idea, there is so much repetition of things that have already been covered that it has become difficult to concentrate, I was hoping the course would be more concise than this. Sticking with it is so far difficult, but I am hopeful that the course content becomes richer in the next few modules! Edit: The author of the course has suggested a refund, but that was not the purpose of my review, I’m simply stating my experience so far, but I am sticking with it and hope it becomes better (and if it does I will edit my review). I’m simply hoping that this review helps put accross that some people need skippable lessons if they understand a concept, that is just going to be repeated lots.

This is an amazing deep dive into Ruby! Boris is wonderfully charming and extremely informative. As an experienced developer, there were a few spots that got a bit dull to me since they were basic concepts of programming, but for anyone starting their journey here, you are in good hands!

Ruby version 2.3.3 is outdated and my terminal won’t allow me to install it. Please update the course content with an announcement or update on how to install the latest version, and if the latest version supports anything being discussed in 2.3.3.

The instructor is SO GOOD. He is clear, thorough, and explains everything to total newbies without making you feel patronized. He should do more courses.

This course provides a great intro to Ruby and programming languages. Each section is easy to understand and a good length of engagement. Programming challenges and quizzes throughout are useful in reinforcing lessons learned. The instructor’s enthusiasm is motivating as well. I learned so much and will continue programming. Thank you!
