Many of the other courses I’ve sampled on Udemy, YouTube, etc. don’t deliver. They don’t teach you how to actually build and debug projects. Jeff does. It’s gritty, it’s messy, it’s real game development. Following along his development process, his way of thinking and his troubleshooting and debugging methods are the best parts of his courses. It’s not enough just to copy what he’s doing, you’ll learn the how’s and why’s of it, which are so much more important if you want to expand your knowledge of game development. I guarantee you’ll walk away learning something valuable about game development. – G W, student review.

This course is not like a how to.. tutorial; it’s a journey of real game development. – Stefan, student review.

Thanks for taking interest in my Multiplayer Dungeon Crawler UE4 course. Here are some important notes before you take the plunge:

This course will teach you REAL game development. You are watching me build a game from scratch right in front of you. If you want to take a course where the instructor copy+pastes his code, then this is not the course for you. You’ll watch me run into problems, debug them, and work things out which is the most important skill in game development, by far.

Instructor Details

With over 5 years of development in Unreal Engine, I've decided to bring my skills to Udemy. I've helped various people over the years create RPG and FPD games with a main focus on multiplayer. In my spare time, I continue to develop my own RPG game. I love teaching and have been helping developers like yourself in Unreal Engine 4 for several years. Let's create games together and make the design process a fun, enjoyable experience.

Instructor can be a bit too quick at times. Considering this is meant to be a Beginner course, there are a lot of basics that he could’ve covered early on, such as hotkeys and going into more detail about engine layouts

First of all (as always): Sorry for my bad english, it’s not my native language, but I try my best to explain why this course is an MUST HAVE for everyone that wants to create an (multiplayer)game. Before you buy: Keep in mind this course is in Early Access and not finished, yet (05/11/2020) but Jeff update it constantly, so you’ll get a ton of stuff in the future, too. This course is absolutely brilliant and I would highly recommend it to everyone! It’s not like an how to… tutorial, it’s a journey of real game development. I’ve enjoyed every single minute of this course so far (I am at section 8 now) and to be honest, I’ve learned a ton about UE4 multiplayer, collisions, how to solve issues and much much more . Personally, Jeff’s courses are my absolute favorite and I am happy that I’ve bought both of them. It pushed my UE4 skills a lot more further into the direction to create my own games. Thanks Jeff for your awesome work! Keep it up!

I have completed the lessons available (65 at the time of writing this review) and I find that Jeff is still a good teacher. He adds content regularly and the best is yet to come. He listens to the community on Discord and is reactive to help or rectify a bug that has been reported. I like the format of the lessons which clearly show the reality of game design. Sometimes it works the first time, sometimes not. Or it works but you have to come back to it later to optimize the systems. In short, I recommend this course!

The presentation is horrifically unprofessional, and on top of that the presenter is fumbling his way through every single video because he is clearly not knowledgeable enough to teach. This is the most awful Udemy course I have ever purchased.

This course is perfect for my wants. I do a lot of work in Blender and have recently started working with Unreal Engine to try to put any sort of fun little game together with the 3d models that I make. This course is helping me create a framework of a top down dungeon crawler that I can add my custom assets to. I can’t wait to see what gets added to the course over time!

The teacher really seems to really know what they’re doing. They have a lot of useful tips I’ve never heard before by following other udemy courses or youtube videos.

3 sections in, definitely a good course. Makes things seem easy that other courses way over complicate. There’s definitely parts that you’ll need to google to understand the why behind it, but that’s to be expected in an intermediate course (at least for me since I’m more of a beginner).

Ive have followed some of the free tutorials of the teacher before and this course its by far really amazing and more complete, Ive learned at this point a lot of things, and this is by far more complete than other coures from internet Ive seen before. This its my first time also on Udemy, im expecting to learn a lot more not only applicable to top down games, at the moment I’m having a problem with the respawn system, paladin isnt retrieving after posses the UI references nor the movement freeze state, after respawn , he can move while attacking and also when dead, im expecting to view the solution before ending the course, or at last if its a problem of mine to resolve it in the meanwhile. 🙂

Seems confused in places, like he’s winging it. Can prove to be quite frustrating. Thankfully it doesn’t happen too frequently, I still think it’s a good course.
